HEALTH TALK ORGANIZED FOR STAFF OF NORTH TONGU DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On the 12th of January 2024, a health talk was organized for the staff of the North Tongu District Assembly as part of measures to ensure the Health and general wellbeing of staff. The talk was facilitated by students from the University of Ghana Medical School in the persons of Mustapha Tagoe, Umar Tampuri and Michael Tochigi Obiri. They were also accompanied by their supervisor, Mr. Kpeli from the Battor Catholic Hospital where they have been attached. The session started with a talk from Umar Tampuri throwing more light on the topic of Hypertension. He highlighted the types of Hypertension and their causes, factors that can bring about the condition and the effects. He also touched on how to manage the situation and ways of prevention. The next part of the session was facilitated by Mustapha Tagoe who spoke about Diabetes Melatus. He explained what it is and spoke about the risk factors. He also placed emphasis on lifestyle changes that need to be made in order to steer clear from the condition. The talk was very interactive and informative. Staff commended management for the initiative and hoped there would be more of such programs in the future.
